Thank God Daily for Both Big Blessings and Small Mercies By: Zaundra 💕

Life moves fast. We rush from one task to the next, often forgetting to pause and recognize just how present God is in every detail of our lives. Gratitude isn’t just a good habit—it’s a spiritual posture that transforms our hearts and draws us closer to Him. God works behind the scenes planning all kinds of surprises for us. He knows the tiny heart desires that we often don’t speak about but quietly hope for.

The Bible tells us, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Notice it doesn’t say to give thanks only when life feels good. I’ve learned to always give thanks in all seasons because there is always something to be grateful for. It’s in our daily rhythm of noticing and acknowledging God’s hand on our life whether in a life-changing breakthrough or in the simplest kindness—that our relationship with Him deepens.

🙌🏾 The Big Blessings

These are the moments that make you stop in your tracks:

  • The prayer you’ve prayed for years finally answered.

  • The financial breakthrough when you were at the end of your rope.

  • The healing report from the doctor.

  • The new job, the restored relationship, the long-awaited dream coming true.

Big blessings are beautiful reminders that God is our Provider and Miracle-Worker. They’re moments worth celebrating, testifying about, and sharing to encourage others. But they’re not the only evidence of His goodness.

The Small Mercies 💕

Small mercies are often overlooked because they blend into the background of everyday life.

  • Waking up to a brand-new morning.

  • That warm cup of tea or coffee when you needed comfort.

  • A text from a friend just when you felt alone.

  • A laugh that eased the heaviness of the day.

  • The way the sunlight streams through your window, reminding you that God’s creation is breathtaking.

These mercies are like whispers from Heaven saying, “I’m here. I see you. I love you.” They remind us that God’s care isn’t just for the big moments—it’s woven into every ordinary hour.

Why Daily Gratitude Matters ☺️

Gratitude shifts our focus from what’s missing to what’s already here. It softens our hearts and trains our eyes to see God’s fingerprints everywhere. It builds faith, because when you remember what He’s already done, you trust Him more for what’s to come. You can always reflect back to help you see a bigger possibility from God moving forward! 🫂

David understood this when he wrote, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2). Forgetting is easy. Remembering takes intention.

🙏🏾How to Practice Thankfulness Every Day

  1. Start Your Morning with Praise – Before reaching for your phone, thank God for at least one big blessing and one small mercy.

  2. Keep a Gratitude Journal – Write down three things each day—some may be monumental, others may seem small but are deeply personal.

  3. Say It Out Loud – Speak your thanks in prayer or conversation. Your own ears need to hear you acknowledge God’s goodness.

  4. Share Gratitude Stories – Encourage others by telling them about God’s blessings in your life.

A Closing Prayer

Father, I thank You for the big blessings that leave me in awe and for the small mercies that remind me of Your daily presence. Help me never to take either for granted. Teach me to see Your goodness in every season, and let gratitude be the song my heart sings each day.

Amen.

I love you my friend!
